-‘Here, I’ll stand by this tree and you stand there and I’ll say hike and you run after me.’ My dad says ‘Hike!’ William turns to him and says, ‘No, I say hike!’
-William has problems with whining. My dad tried to encourage him by drawing a parallel with reality. ‘William, you need to stop whining. Do you see other football players whine?’ Long silence. ‘Well…’
-Our front yard isn’t the best spot to play football, there are some little chipmunk holes here and there. William tripped on one and made a complete face-plant. My dad asked him if he was alright and he said, ‘I’m dead.’
