Seasons blow,
Like leaves in the wind,
I miss them as I greet them,
Wave farewell as I welcome them in,
Time is the guest you lay the table for,
Watching at the glass,
The one who stays too long,
The one that’s gone too fast,
August boasts its pleasures,
But don’t forget the heat,
October its cool shade,
But don’t forget the wheat,
I seem to sit halfway,
Between mother and wife,
Cradle and the young man’s road,
Childhood and responsible life,
And so while I can I will,
Hold August’s sun, October’s chill,
And as often as I remember,
Live content in Mid-September,
